I wanted to show you my creative thought process in creating and designing cards for a swap. What is a swap, you ask? Well a swap is where a group of people make a specific number of items that follow a set list of requirements and theme. In my case, I was to make full cards (not card fronts) and my requirement was to make 5+1 by the deadline date and to only use stamp sets from the Occasions mini catalog. When I had my first preview of the Occasions mini catalog, I had come across one stamp set that I instant fell in love with. The stamp set is Vivid Vases. I know, when I saw this stamp set, that I wanted to do the Coloring technique. I love doing the Coloring technique, and yes I still color in coloring books too!
When working on a swap I don’t always come up with a design as was the case with this swap. Sometimes it is hard to come up with one. So what I did was just stamped the image on Whisper White card stock and colored it in with my favorite colors. After I colored it, I looked at it and then I made notes on the changes I wanted to make to the next card. Here is the card with the notes:
I then stamped the image again and colored it according to my notes and made a few more changes. Then I decided on how to pair it with other card stock to make my cards. I ended up with this final card:
Stamp set: Vivid Vases, Paper: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Watercolor Designer Paper, Ink: Early Espresso, Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral, Real Red, So Saffron, and Crisp Cantaloupe.
As you can see, it is different from what I started out with. Anyone can design cards, all they need is to use their imagination and be open to inspiration! If you need any of the supplies to make this card, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Well it’s finally here!!! The post you all have been waiting to read is finally here! Our new craft studio is finally ready for some crafting magic!
Let’s start with the reminder of what it was before the transformation.
When I first moved into our new house, the craft studio was just a storage room for unpacked boxes. Well after several months of unpacking, we finally were able to empty it. It took us a few weeks to get it fully painted. My daughter and I did the painting. I also went around the room before painting, taking out all of the nails and repairing the holes that were left behind. It took so long to paint because the walls were made of wood paneling and it really absorbed each layer of paint. We ended up painting three layers of paint because of this.
First we had to clean the walls and repair any holes left from taking nails out of the wall.
And the painting begins!
AFTER: One layer of paint.
My Roxy wanted to even help! Awwww….she is so darn cute!!
Please…please…PLEASE! Can I help!!!
AFTER: Three layers of paint! Nice and solid pink, just the way I wanted it!!
I don’t want this to be too long of a post, so I am going to end this one here. Not to worry, the second part will be coming up soon with even more picture!
Thanks for reading this post and if you want to see more pictures or see some of my bloopers, check out my Facebook page and you will get to see special pictures that I won’t post here!

Hello my crafty friends! I would like to thank everyone who participated in the Mystery Hostess drawing celebrating the re-launch of my blog. We do not have a winner. This is because we needed to accumulate $30 in hostess benefits for the drawing and we didn’t reach that. No worries though, those who participated will not walk away empty handed. I will be sending to them via U.S. Mail a little “thank you” for participating and celebrating the re-launch of my blog.
Again, thank you so much! I am very appreciative of those who not only read my blog, but follow it and also follow my Facebook page. Thank you so, so very much!! 🙂
There are two days left for the Mystery Hostess drawing! Don’t miss out on possibly winning the Mystery Hostess drawing. If you are picked you will get all of the hostess benefits without having to do the work of having a workshop in your own home! Another great benefit is that when you place an order online, it is shipped straight to your home. Your order does not go to a hostess or to me, but straight to you! How awesome is that???
Here is how you enter the drawing:
TO ENTER MYSTERY HOSTESS DRAWING:
- NOTE: ORDERS OVER $150 – DO NOT ENTER CODE You will automatically get Stampin’ Rewards – $25 Free (and up) with orders over $150
- Winners will be drawn on July 8th, Via Random.org and announced here on my blog and on One Creative Mom’s Facebook page.
- Each $25 order placed in my online store using the Hostess Code will be automatically counted in the drawing.
- For each $30 in hostess benefits accumulated using the Hostess Code listed above, I will draw a winner.
- There may be multiple winners, making your chances of winning higher!

This way you can be your own hostess…no need to await the drawing for free stamps. Take advantage of your own freebies with your order.
Hi all my crafty friends!!
I just wanted to let all of my digital crafty friends know of some Stampin’ Up! news. Every week on Tuesday, Stampin’ Up! releases new digital downloads for their My Digital Studio program. If your wondering what you can do with My Digital Software, take a look at my header and the “Shop 24/7” and the “Save 20%” buttons. I created these with My Digital Download. Stampin’ Up! even offers a 30-day trial if you want to try My Digital Studio before buying it. To find out more about the software program, click here. To see what the latest digital downloads are, click here.
I also wanted to give my crafty friends an update on my craft room. Well today is shopping day. I go and buy an IKEA Expedit shelving unit, a desk, a craft storage base, and some office/desk accessories. I put already into the craft room, one of the vintage dresser that belonged to my husband’s step-grandfather. I love the character that this dresser shows, all of the nicks and scratches. It really shows the life that my husband’s family has lived. As soon as I get the items built and put in place, I will be taking more pictures and will post them here.
Have a great day everyone!!!
