One Creative Mom is a place that showcases the art and craft of me, Patricia Stanard: worker-bee, crafter, stamper, scrapbooker, a diabetic, a Mom in a blended family, wannabe guitarist, a yard sale shopper extraordinaire, a NASCAR/LA Dodgers/Disney fan and a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. I am a lover of buttons, fabric, fiber and all things scrapbook/card making. I have been scrapbooking and stamping for almost 20 years and crafting for 18 years.
I come from a long line of crafters as well. Ever since I was a little girl, my maternal grandmother was always either sewing, knitting, crocheting, or fixing old dolls to be given away to disadvantage children in Mexico. She has even knitted an outfit for my niece when she was a baby. This was one of the last outfits my maternal grandmother made before she was no longer able to see well enough to make them. And, although I have never met my paternal grandmother (she past away when my dad was 7 years old), my father has told me that back in the day, my grandmother was always making the clothes they wore. I believe that it is through these genes that I get my creative crafting ability and I know that if both grandmothers were alive today, they would be very proud of the items I have made and the projects I have completed.
I am so blessed and thankful for what I have in my life. When I’m not working; enjoying “mom & me” time spent with my beautiful, sweet, patience-testing, teenaged daughter; hanging out with my amazing hubby and our adorable terrier-mix fur-baby named Roxy; taking pictures; or practicing guitar, you can find me creating in my craft studio.
